BIOGRAPHY:
Goede was originally the conciousness of the accumulation of negativity within the Granidean World Tree, fated to come into existence, be destroyed by the World Tree and be reborn again only to face another destruction in a neverending cycle. Composed of the world's negative thoughts and feelings, Goede's physical form was born when Janis Cahn and his assistant accidentally destroyed a portion of the World Tree's roots. Already close to being overwhelmed by the negativity, the World Tree couldn't do anything about the negativity pouring out of the wound, which reformed into a coporeal being, Goede.
Knowing that he was never meant to exist, that to the world he was something unwanted, even hated; Goede, driven by fear, bitterness and hatred sought to destroy the world because he saw it as the main cause of his suffering. From the very moment the Granidean Descender came into being, Goede had been aware of their existence. A being of light, borne from the mana of the World Tree, an existence that loved the world and was also loved and wanted by the world, never knowing the pain of being unwanted to the point that their existence was repeatedly destroyed... Goede hated that existence that was the complete mirror opposite of his.
Hungry for more power in order to strenghthen his unstable existence and reach his goal of dooming Granide, Goede absorbed negativity in large amounts. Along with the increased strength came immense suffering and anguish from the weight of all the strong feelings that made up the negativity, but Goede repelled all offers of help from the Descender, sinking deeper into his own bitterness, hatred, despair and darkness.
Goede and the Granidean Descender ultimately faced off in the Negative Nest. After his first defeat, a conflicted Goede was consumed by all the negativity he had absorbed and mutated into a warped monster incapable of any rational thought or reasoning. The creature attacked the Descender but was also defeated in the end. With that second defeat, all the negativity dispersed back into the World Tree. Goede, his existence destabilized once more, was also caught up in the flow and returned to the World Tree with a despairing cry.
The Descender went after him, sheltering him, preventing his disappearance and showing Goede that there were people who understood accepted him, and that all pain and sadness, happiness and light could be shared together. With that, the both of them changed all negativity into mana for the world.

PERSONALITY:
Goede was a being that was driven by fear, bitterness, hatred and anger. The product of the world's negative feelings, he knew nothing but that negativity that he had been a part of for so long and was consequently deeply mistrustful of of everyone and everything around him. In his eyes the whole world sought his destruction. Deep inside Goede was a very insecure being, yearning for acceptance and doubting his own existence. Afraid of disappearing, seeing no way out of his suffering except for destroying the root of it, Goede lashed out at the world, seeking its destruction the same way it sought his.
Goede had almost next to no understanding of anything opposite of the negativity he was born from. Therefore the actions of the Granidean Descender and her companions , especially Kannono, brought him great confusion. He couldn't grasp the fact that people didn't hate him, even wanted to help him. The conflict it caused within him only made him very volatile as a form of protection against a world he had no understanding of. This continued until the end of his very last battle with the Descender, until the Descender exposed him to acceptance and understanding.
The present Goede is considerably less bitter, resentful and angry. He is slowly learning about the positive side of the world. The self-doubt is still there, along with the mistrustfulness of anyone but the Granidean Descender, as he is still coming to terms with the fact that he isn't unwanted. Because of the circumstances of his existence so far, Goede is also easily confused by the simplest of things, particularly concerning social interaction. This causes him to be akward and very defensive in conditions that involve no enimity. The volatile nature is still there also, only toned down slightly by newly-learnt logical thought and rationale.
